The GM sensors are always the better choice, learned from experience on other vehicles. They batteries always last longer and there's never any issues with learning. BTW, the ZL1 sensor is all metal....

If you were running the 0W40 and now the 20W50, you've just started to use oil that flows slower at cold startup. Look up the Kinematic Viscosity @ 40 C (104*F) of each oil.

Oil is not thinner when cold....

So easy to do it yourself. If they are within min thickness, you don't have to resurface the rotors. It helps but it's not neccesary. IOW, if you only need to swap pads, it it so easy on these cars.
