PVD is a coating that is pretty durable. It does not lend itself to repair though.
There's a wheel repair and PVD shop in Anaheim. I have a few rashes on my set of FR41's.

It's very smooth and the trunk is so big you could haul bodies in there and not even need to cut them up first.
