Had that same problem when mine was new. The dealer took care of it right away by changing our the fluid, running and changing out fluid again. Never came back and that was 25,000 miles ago.

Unhappy 2011 LT - Fuel Gauge Failure!

Highway driving, down to about 3/4 tank and suddenly the fuel gauge drops to zero! The MPG calculator shows "--", and I am like "huh"? All other electrical gauges working OK, like the Average speed....

E85

Strong downside is the corrosiveness of E85. It will eat up your soft parts....not worth IMO. Go for the hi-octane fuel - if available in your state, instead.
