My advice? Avoid the LSX altogether, Dart iron is better. Dart aluminum is trash however, LSR blocks are fantastic if you want aftermarket aluminum.

It depends on how much cylinder pressure it was making. Rods bend at peak torque not hp and you definitely aren't making peak torque at the limiter so it probably bent before the tires unloaded.

I would do bronze bushings. I had the Comp Cams needle style trunion kit installed for 15k miles and there are grooves worn into the trunion because the needles ride directly on it.
