their is a guy on ls1tech with a ls7 based engine swapped into an 80 monte carlo , he has about 10k in just the heads and is making 620 ish at the wheels.

Do an intake , tune and full exhaust and then have it dyno tuned. You will pick up a damn good amount doing that . Then decide if you want to go with a larger cam .
