Camaro 6 Vs. Camaro 5 Help
 

So I had a 2013 White V6 manual camaro for about 3 years. Loved it, hated to sell it but my job at the time gave me a free vehicle so I figured why have a car payment. Well that Camaro had all the bolt ons I could get minus the highflow headers, and it was tuned with E85 at a local shop in socal. Put down 360 or 370hp (not to the wheels) and it was fun to drive. I'm trying to buy a 2017-2020 V6 now and i'm curious about a few things. How much better is the new V6 vs the one I had? How bad would I hate myself if I tried the 4cyl turbo vs. the newer V6? And is the automatic for the V6 really that great? Read car & driver's review of the 2016 V6 camaro, it stated they loved the auto vs. the manual, they said it was 0.2 seconds faster in the quarter and got better MPG.

Ultimately this will be a daily driver for me that I would like to mod a little and get tuned for E85 since Gas is currently around $5.49 for regular here in a orange county california but E85 is like $2.99. I don't have a heavy foot and I baby my vehicles with on time maintenance with high quality parts/fluids. I want a fun daily and I might take to a local track (not drag) 1-2 times a year that should be reliable. I have a full race car for beating up already. I plan to bolt on every performance mod I can to the engine and shoot for 380+HP (again, not to the wheels). Any help choosing the right year, engine/trans is appreciated. Thanks guys. :wave:

My $.02 worth, strictly on the V6 vs turbo 4 question. I drove both, both used, both with 8spd autos. Basically, you get exactly what the torque curves say you will get. The 4 cyl has more torque down low and is more flexible around town. The V6, to me was gutless in normal city driving, you really had to kick it to get anywhere. I wouldn't consider one without a stick.

I love my 2.0t/M6 to death. The low end torque is especially suited to the local mountain passes I frequent as often as possible.

Straight line or high speed corners? I expect the V6 to bury the 4 cyl. Can't argue with 60 hp.
