Text sent on bad/broken HFC pipes on day they were installed

After giving jcharrier time to respond to my texts (as he does not give email addresses) it appears he knew that the HFC he had were bad. He had listed that they were sold back on 2-20-15, but when I asked about them he said he still had them. The story he gave me was that the buyer crashed his car before he installed them and he bought them back. I would like that buyer to post to see if that was really what happened because my belief, for lack of response by the seller to me, is that the buyer installed them and found them to be bad immediately, like me. They have at least one cracked weld that could not be seen until they were bolted up. The manufacturer..Solo..said that they could not warranty anything due to the fact they were purchased used, but would fix them if I sent them back...at my expense paying for shipping both ways ....which I can't fault them for, but this transaction should never have made. IF he (the seller) did not know they were damaged, then why would he not contact me by phone (which he has) or by text..??? I've been on other forums for 15 years and purchased many items, and sold many items, thru them but always had good results with reliable sellers I guess this does not apply to this seller however. If I'm wrong I will correct this, but without communication on an expensive item, you have to admit it leaves you questioning this seller.

How bad are they? Just a broken weld? Post pics. So did SOLO say they would fix them for free and you just had to pay shipping? Or do do you have to pay them to fix them as well as pay shipping?

How long has it been since you purchased them? I think you can file a paypal claim up to 60 days after you send the payment.

When I contacted Solo they said they would repair it, at my cost which they could not say until they inspected the break as it may require replacing the resonator, and yes, I'd have to pay for the repair and shipping both ways. I can't fault Solo because as they said, I purchased the item used and they don't know what the original owner (if he was the original owner) might have done to them. There are no appearant dents on the resonator, just a failed weld.

It's been less then a month since I bought them, and a few days since I texted him. I did enter a Paypal case, and once again detailed what the issue was, and offered either refund or pay repair cost.

I can only wait now to see what happens, but I can't drive the car due to exhaust fumes coming into the passenger compartment, and it's my DD.

jcharrier, man up and answer the guy...this is what stops me from buying stuff from members here...
