Any idea what's wrong with this car?

My mom drives a 2011 Dodge Challenger v6. On the way home from dinner, all of the lights turned on (abs, tpms, etc) and they all kept turning off and on. She kept driving, and when she got on our street, the car turned itself off, then turned itself back on, then turned itself off again. It happened in about 20 seconds. Now the car won't start and it smells odd. I can't quite put my finger on what the smell is, but it's almost smells like burnt plastic/oil.

Any ideas on what's wrong??

I would start checking for a short in the wiring.

Or possibly a loose ground somewhere.

Come on guys, try to be helpful. I remind her that she bought the wrong car as often as I can

Seriously, the burnt plastic smell is probably the insulation from a wire that has shorted.

So she took the car to our local Dodge dealership and they said they couldn't figure out the problem :frusty: Now what?

Now you need a new dealership.

We have a :idiot: button here for a reason.

Besides it's a Dodge, like it has been said a wire shorted out. If it was a lose ground it shouldn't smell burnt. I would find another dealer, if the car still under warranty. If not then find a good small mechanic shop.

Haven't seen it on a Charger yet, but the Chrysler mini vans have problems with the power supply modules going bad.

Two things wrong with it come to mind.

1) Dodge
2) V6

Sounds like a short, or a fried ECU. Possibly both.
