I searched but couldn't find anything but has anyone upgraded their USB 1.5 amp port to a 2.1 or 3.0 amp so it will actually charge the new iPhones and tablets? If so details and a shopping list would be appreciated.

I think the cig lighter has 10 amp so you can use a USB converter.
