Red Brake calipers options

Have 2020 RS. Really like the look of red calipers...looking for other options besides the expense of changing them out. I dont like the idea of painting.. I did see some aluminum covers on a site that look good...looking for some advice and opinions

My son has a 2015 rs convertible. He has the caliper covers from MGP. I must say they look really nice on his car. His car is black with the black covers. Sorry I don't have any pictures. He does claim that they cut down on the wheels getting dirty quickly.

Yes those are the ones if seen

Painting the calipers isn't that difficult. I used the brush on product from DUPLI-COLOR. My suggestion would be to purchase a better brush than what comes in the kit. After a tire/wheel is removed, it took me less than an hour to do each caliper after cleaning thoroughly with brake cleaner for adhesion. The paint dries quickly. I used just one heavy coat, flowing it on evenly. Many people use two coats.

You couldn't tell that mine were not oem powder coated. I found a vendor who makes replacement caliper decals if you want that detail. A light coat of high temperature gloss clear will seal it easily.

VHT also has a kit. An aerosol product would go on quicker but require masking.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the calipers are painted rather than powder coated from the factory. I may be wrong though

With the caliper covers, you just need to make sure there is enough clearance with your wheels.

Personally I think they look great from a distance but a little cheesy up close because they do not mirror the shape of the caliper enough.

I have a 2SS and these are a direct swap from the black to the red.

Paint or powder coat

Painting isn’t difficult and it is cheap. I did my trucks brakes few months ago

So, are you saying these will fit also pre LCI models? Because these part numbers indicate that these calipers fit only the LCI.

Thank you

I just ordered the G2 paint kit to paint mine. I painted my 4th gen Camaro calipers with a Dupli Color kit in September 2004, and they still looked good when I traded in the car last November.

If I went with reds, I'd for sure ditch the OEM pads. Otherwise all the work will be black within a few hundred miles.
