end of 2014 stingray production year
Does anyone know when the production for the 2014 Stingray will stop?
At what event status code is the cut off for getting a 2014 car vs having to wait for a 2015 Stingray. Thanks (order # RRFZCH languishing at 1100 status):bonk::mad0259:. |
Aguust 8.
Don't know but 1100 definitely will not make the cut. 3000 will but it happens so rarely that it almost doesn't count. That leaves 2000 and 2500 to be accounted for. Laborsmith |

No, 1100 disappears as if never existed.
2000 and above roll over. But realize it is extremely rare for GM to accept an order unless certain it will be produced. Reasons for accepting but not producing would be weather emergency, insurrection, isolated work action (strike) or (a new possibility) a sink hole opening up in the middle of the plant. So you see, it can happen, and has happened, but so rarely that one can not expect it to happen. Laborsmith |

Last day for 2014MY August 8. The plant normally closes for two weeks like you said; don't know if it will this year but expect it will.

read somewhere on this forum or maybe a different corvette forum that any order that is 2000 or better by mid June 2014 is probably safe for production, but any order less than 2000 by mid June is probably out of luck for 2014.
Big problem seems to be dealer allocations. It seems a lot of dealers told customers that they had an allocation for their order when well maybe not, at least not right away, so these orders are sitting out there on the far side of the moon awaiting the dealer's elusive allocation. That plus the Z51 constraint for those ordering that option all has to come together in the next 6 weeks or so in order to advance beyond 1100 to 2000 by the mid June date. My understanding is that the 2015 production starts in mid August 2014. Anyway, that is what i read somewhere. Not very reassuring for those of us at 1100 status with the Z51 package. We ordered 1 month ago today.:faint: |
P.S. Our dealer told us they had an active allocation for our order at the time we placed the order. But it must have been a ghost allocation since no longer there after our order was placed, so no one could find it. Now we are told that we will have an allocation at the end of this month...6 weeks after order placed and 6 weeks before the mid June cut-off to reach 2000 status.
Maybe we will get the very last Stingray produced in 2014? That might make it more valuable, right?:frusty: |
Thanx blowfelt for the info. My Z51 vert been at 1100 since January and I'm not feeling very confident my line is going to make it to the cash register before the store closes. And I read on this forum of people with 1100's dating back to December. What to do?

I understand being loyal to your local dealer but only to a point. I went back to my dealer that I bought my Chevy Volt from when I wanted to get my C7. His allocation meant at least a 6 month wait. He totally understood that I went to a dealer which got my car to me in less than 6 weeks from the order date. And that wasn't a fluke. Their allocation is in the hundreds. Buy the car from one of the big C7 dealers and they ship the car to you. I see so many people still waiting from last year. I don't get it. Loyalty is important but not your fault if they don't have what you want to buy.
