Corvette Delayed Because
|
Wait. Where have I been...a hybrid, twin-turbocharged corvette?!
|
500 horse power base corvette, that could very well mean next gen ss Camaro could get that same engine.
|
Typical copy/paste AI watered down news rehash bottom half of the page drivel on (Fox and all the rest) leaves out all the really good intel.
Now go read the actual Hagerty article for the real juice (future LT6/LT8 engines). https://www.hagerty.com/articles-vid...corvette-delay Quote:

Sounds like my kind of problem
|
"The second issue is a structural distortion of the aluminum spaceframe experienced during testing a prototype equipped with the 900-1000 horsepower twin-turbo V-8. The twist in back was enough to fracture the glass hatch covering the engine. Be glad this flaw was discovered in advance of your top speed runs in Chevy’s designated Ferrari-beater."
If the frame cannot handle the higher-powered versions, that sounds to my uneducated ear like a need for some serious re-design work on the chassis, which ought not to be rushed. Am I wrong? :iono: |

Let's hope the 7th gen Camaro is still going to get built...I would love a C8, but I just price is going to be way up there for a loaded Stingray (or base mode Vette), probably going to be well into C7 Z06 territory...hell, a C7 Stingray gets into the $70's, coupe. The 7th gen SS and ZL1 should be awesome, as well as the C8! Good times!

Last year, I bought my '17 GS with 4,000 miles on it. The previous owner got bored and wanted a Z06. He traded it in and I snatched it up for $15k off of the original price. It is absolutely mint and the guy even had a $2,500, 3M self-healing clear bra installed on 3/4 of the car. Thanks buddy! :headbang: |
