Window Tint
Hi, I live in NJ
Im picking up my z51 (white with black wheels and carbon painted wing and side view mirrors) on Friday. I wanted to tint the rear windshield and curtain windows. I know I read a thread somewhere on this but can't find it. I used 3M tint on my other car and am very happy with it. I was thinking of putting 20% tint, shall I use that? Anybody suggest not to tint? |
My first suggestion is to check the legal limit in your area, and don't go darker. Some states have a limit on the rear window, others don't. You also don't want it so dark you can't see out at night.
Next thought concerns the little flag profiles across the top of the rear window. They are raised slightly above the glass, and I fear you will never get the film to seal tightly around all of them, which from the outside will look awful. If there is a spray-on tint for glass, it might be the better choice. I want to tint mine too, but this concern holds me back. |
You are going to cover up all those beautiful C7 Logo flags on the rear window, or will they still show up?

I tinted mine and have seen many others that look fine on the rear window.....20 pct all around. The rear window showed a band for about a week and then disappeared.

Also in NJ I don't think the front windows can be tinted. |
It took me a while to notice the little symbols on the upper portion of the rear window. "like"
I think that I am going to only tint the driver/passenger windows. The "opera" windows seem to already have a very dark tint. A clear ceramic film on the front window will block UV and is worthwhile in very sunny/hot climates. Not Illinois. :sm0: |
