When is a Brembo not a Brembo

Does GM plan to mount something other than Brembo brakes on the future Camaros? Brembo does not make replacement rotors or pads available to the public and as a result most of the early Gen 5 vehicles now have rotors and pads which are not Brembo. With the replacement of these parts it is easy to say that you do not have “Brembo” brakes.

Shouldn’t GM look at placing a brake system on their cars that the purist can purchase from the local market and ensure they have the performance level they were told they would get from their car.

If ensuring the Brembo name is on the sales report in the first place it would be important to be able to keep it on the vehicle after it have been driven for 9 years.

You don't have access to a Chevrolet dealership for authentic replacement parts? What version of reality are you in?

Also, wrong forum.

I guess you never checked Amazon or even googled Brembo brakes.
I guess the internet is a mystery to some.

Brembo brakes are not Brembos because the OP doesn’t want to go to the dealer or too lazy to look for parts.

BTW here are some Brembo rotors https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...ort-rotors.htm

I guess my car no longer has a Brembo brake system because I have EBC brake pads.

Beats me why he's so focused on OE branding (and suggesting that he's a purist) when it comes to brakes while claiming elsewhere that he's running 22" wheels (and bitching about not finding tires to fit them in the sizes he wants). Never mind that the Brembo name on pads or rotors isn't ever going to be visible once they're installed on the car like it can be on the calipers.

use these part numbers on amazon or wherever you feel like

front pads 89047725 without the skates (if you plan on using 17" wheels for a drag wheel setup)

front pads 22907156 with the skates (vibration dampers)
rear pads 89047744
front rotors 92245928
rear rotors 92245929

note: the white brake pad box that says "Brembo Italy" camy inside a box that said AC Delco on the outside. As did the rotors. Box in a box!

I am damn sure not going to roast OP like most of these guys, but when he said that, I was like WTF, I can't buy rotors and pads for this damn car. I started to get super pissed until I remembered the other night pricing pads for the Brembo brakes to just have them for when I do my first brake job. Yes they are around $350 for a complete set, but you can definitely buy them. Now I am curious about what OP is talking about???
