Gloss black vinyl on ZL1 rockers
 

Does anyone have any experience with vinyl on the ZL1 rockers? I'm contemplating covering the lower (textured plastic) part with a gloss black vinyl to blend in a little better with the gloss black Z/28 aero kit... I know Gary's has vinyl (or similar to vinyl) lettering - but not sure what type of vinyl that is and if it will stick well.

With my experience with vinyl, textured plastic is going to very difficult to keep on unless you prep the hell out of the plastic. I dont even think its going to honestly stick unless the surface was smooth because theres not enough surface energy for the adhesive to adhere to. Even with then with it being smooth there still a chance it can lift

There are products on the market to help make the vinyl stick better like primer 94 but its best to avoid those because they are a mess to deal with if you want to remove it after awhile.

What you could do pretty inexpensive is get some Paint & primer in one gloss black then clear coat them and polish them they should come out looking the way that you want if not you have a good foundation for getting them wrapped gloss black with no problem
