New member from East Texas

Hello, I'm a 50yr old ex-auto tech who now sits behind a desk. Got a place out in East Texas and was in the market for another car so I decided to get something that I really enjoy driving. Drove a 5th gen several years ago and have been wanting one, but when the 6th gen came out, I knew that was the one I would get, just needed to wait for them to hit the used car market in the high $20K range.

Bought a 37,000 mile, 2016 2SS about 3 months ago. Have replaced two windshields and rear tires so far (fronts were new when purchased). Now has 52,000. I will be in the high mileage club soon enough as I have a 270 mile (round trip) commute for work every day. So far the car as been perfect.

Welcome to the Forum my friend. You sure do have one heck of a daily commute, one of the longest I have heard of in years. Be careful and stay safe.

Thank you. Well I like my job and where I work, but the place we bought is worth it to me. 2hrs10min, goes by pretty quick. I get up at 5am and get to work at 7:30

WOW.....and I thou9ght my commute was bad as 100 miles!! at least you will have a lot of SMILES TO THE MILE!!

oh and btw, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Well, I got a ticket the other day for 85 in a 75, and I was even following an F250, so I am trying to prevent that from happening again. But when the 18 wheelers will stay out of the left lane just under 2hrs I think is the quickest 133 miles. Time to beat (aka, the Map route) is 2hr 21m. Mornings are best as there aren't as many people out at 5am.
