Howdy everyone. Oxide_moto is my social name. My real name is Philip, and I own a 2011 Camaro 2SS LS3. I'm figuring out the sig thing currently, but I'll have a mod list eventually. She's currently getting some work done, as when my buddy and I had replaced a bad lifter on the driver side, he accidentally dropped a fuel rail nut into one of the passenger intake holes, which neither of us heard, as I believe it dropped while lifting out the intake manifold, because I taped all the holes immediately after removal. Well needless to say when we reassembled everything, and tried to crank her by hand, she got stuck at the same exact spot, in both directions, so just for shits and giggles I tried turning the key, and same result, but it seems the pressure from the ignition start did just enough damage to the cylinder that it damaged the rod, thus causing it to knock a hole in my block once the nut was discovered and removed, and the engine reassembled, and ran for about 30 seconds before shutting itself off due to the rod.

Anyhoo, this is good news because it had a cam previously installed, and the specs are unknown, so given the top end is intact still, I'll be able to find that out, and add it to the mods, which also include a ceramic coating, JBA LT headers, 3 inch exhaust with seemingly high flow or gutted cats, Flowmaster mufflers, cold air intake, and a tune. I have huge plans to build this car into a show/street/occasional strip masterpiece. So I'll be quite active in the forums after this initial block replacement. Drive safe everyone!

Welcome. Terrible story about the damage - I'm sure some lessons learned there! Appreciate your sharing, as it's a good reminder on a few things for all of us. I'm sure you'll have it back together and better than ever soon.

Phillip, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
