First Scratch!! :-(

So pulling into a Dunkin Donuts last week (early AM) I went too far and hit the concrete parking stop and scratched the front bumper pretty bad :confused0068::thumbdown:. Has this happened to anyone yet? any suggestions on fixes? I will post pictures later today...

Ouch! Been there, done that. I have had my C7 for about 15 months now and still find it very difficult to park. I guess that is why most of us grey-hairs back into parking spots.

I say touch it up and forget about it. You can get touch up paint from most of the prominent Corvette accessory websites. You can also buy an aftermarket front bumper cam. I believe that I read somewhere that 2016 C7s will have a factory front bumper cam option.

You might try Dr. Colorchip. Several friends have used the system with great results. The only other option I can think of is to have fascia repaired at a body shop. They should be able to blend into the surrounding area decently with little trouble.

I scraped the front of my velocity yellow Corvette doing about the same damage. However, the scraped area was covered with Xpel clear bra. My scrape was about three times longer than yours. The Xpel absorbed 2/3rd's the damage before it finally tore through to the paint. I removed the damaged Xpel, touched up the scrape with two coats of Dr. Colorchip and had the Xpel replaced. I've asked friends to look for the repaired area and they only notice it when I point it out. That's good enough for me.

Awesome! did you use the optional white coat that comes with the Dr Colorchip Kit? They recommend it just curious if you used it.

Oh, I hate that. But at least you got that out of the way so to speak. I 2nd the touch up and forget it.

I have to tell myself in my head while I park - "STOP SHORT":mad2:

I try to back in when possible.

I try to avoid the concrete blocks as well as end spaces with curbs. They're magnets for wheels:mad2:

That hurts. Been there - done that!
