Redeye Runs 9.85.....UPDATE 1/29/20
Tune, race gas, drag radials.
Let the hatin start.... https://www.hellcat.org/threads/stoc...es-9-8.229045/ |
No hate, what is was designed for... great run... has a tune only (not factory switchable tune). No doubt there were lots left on the table from the factory...

Speculation with some Demon rear springs and negative DA 9.5’s will be achievable. Will be the route I go along with a spacer and a thermal blanket which I already have ordered. Surely that will be fast enough for me lol. |
Spacer will be fine if you only drag, road racing, not so much. The SC will need a way to dissipate the heat into the coolant if you do road race.
I did the thermal shield under the sc on mine years ago - lid spacer too but not manifold spacer. Will help for sure. FI has a good spacer. Obviously, the demon has the factory warranty with the switchable tunes. Still one head of a car... -Don |
Yep. You'll get no qualms from me. Dodge designed the Hellcat, Red-Eye and Demon to be 1/4 mile monsters. If you are a person that loves the drag strip, then these cars were made for you.
Hitting 9's in a street car is nuts! |

Wasn’t too long ago if you had an 11 sec street car you had a really fast car. |
Fast factory beasts is where its at, hope this trend continues!

I’ll put it this way:
What would you want — sex for 10 to 12 seconds at a time (drag racing) or, sex for 20 to 30 minutes at a time (road course racing)? (Leaving auto-cross out since it’s not too much longer than a minute).. I love road course racing ;o) -Don |

I remember when low 13s were impressive (stock) and 12s were the goal. |
The only downside is you'll make one pass and be off the track...

Drag racing isn't my thing but those cars are pretty incredible.
Not sure why anyone would hate on them. |

10 to 12 seconds? What do I do with the extra 6 to 8 seconds? |
