Based on the initial feedback, it looks like the new S650 Mustang has been well received. If the pricing is not out of line then it would be tough for me to pick an SS 1LE over the the Dark Horse at this point. Unfortunately, you have to get into Dark Horse trim to get a Tremec.

I still can't believe Chevy and Dodge are throwing in the towel. :pout:

I would only get it if it were the only option, which in a couple years would be. But I just picked up my ‘23 2SS last weekend. The exterior of the mustang is fine. I don’t like the interior though.

Nope, I gave up on Ford a while back.

I had a '12 5.0 GT Premium, '16 C7 2LT 7M, and '17 50th 2SS 'vert.

I was pretty set on getting back into a Gen 6 but after looking things over the past few days I'm now in wait-and-see mode.

I can afford a ZL1 and was leaning that way even with all the constraints, but that Dark Horse looks pretty damn cool with some really appealing colors.

I'm brand agnostic, I could see myself in a Dodge Challenger Widebody, too.

Good time to be car shopping!

They sure fixed up the godawful ugly front for the most part, however, the taillights are way worse than before, the DOHC V8 is still not my favorite and the actual extent of chassis/suspension changes is unknown.

I'm also very sad to see Ford remaining the only serious player, but who knows, maybe this is how it was meant to be: as someone pointed out in another thread, they started the pony car segment, it's fitting that they should also be the one to end it.

Not really, everything is super expensive still, and if you order, you still have to wait forever and may end up with an incomplete car. The best time to be car shopping was in 2018-2019 IMO.

I am glad the S650 was being released before I am going to buy. It will of course depend on pricing, but I dont think the S650 will change my mind about getting a ZL1 M6.

What is the redline? 3k

JamesNoBrakes 09-17-2022 05:44 PM

Is it even heavier?

CHASLT1 09-17-2022 05:51 PM

Not me. Happy with my C6. Only a small pickup regcab would be anything i would even think about.

if you look at the current pricing, expect the GT to start at $40k, the performance pack closer to $50K, and the Dark Horse replacing the Mach1 will have an unobtainable but listed start price just under $60K.

Not a chance.

The S650 not interested in but would love to get a Mach 1 though. I'm looking at getting a new truck next year. I was thinking either a GMC or Silverado 1500 but now I'm thinking really hard about a new F150. GM is a absolute joke anymore so maybe it's time for myself to make a few changes across the board. Btw glad to see Ford sticking it to GM like a few of us predicted last year. Funny stuff....:smiling1:

I decided to go with a ZL1 over a Roush Mustang (S550). And, an S650 Roush isn't for sure and likely a year plus out even if they bring one out. I do like it, though.
