My wife and I took the Stingray Class together last year. It was a great time for both of us. My wife had not driven a manual in over 30 years and by the end of the class she was driving as fast as the guys in class that said they could not drive a stick and could only drive an auto. The facility was top notch, the food was great and we both learned a lot from the instructors. Speaking of the instructors, they do a remarkable of watching where they are going and watching you while you are driving. They were driving 1LE's as instructor cars and no one could stay with them. They all had some kind of racing background and their goal is to make you a better driver. I highly recommend the school for everyone.

We just got back from Spring Mountain C7 Corvette Performance Driving School. Chief Instructor Rick Malone and his staff are TOP NOTCH Guys. This place is a bucket list item. We bought so much apparel that I could have taken day three . We were on the Blue Track which is the best track compared two the white track The condos are A1 and the club house is awesome as well. You can go down the road to the shooting range if you like. I must recommend going to eat at the Winery it is awesome also. I would recommend you using your SD the very first day and get a 32GB and they sell them there. It must be a 16 or 32 only and it must have the number 10 with a circle around it. We didn't buy the insurance but it is an option. If you pay attention and drive at your comfort level I don't see why you need to purchase it but its a personal thing. You will be riding with Stingray, GS, and Z06, you will not be separated by models. They are expanded the track by the new owners and it will end up being over 18 + miles of track. They have homes on the track with Helipad access which is cool. The weather was awesome but I wouldn't be able to stand it during the summer time on all that asphalt. The skid and wet track exercises were awesome also. Weather mode is awesome and it works. Their moto is ABS (Ability to Brack and Steer).

They have 16 and 17 C7s and they only keep them one year. All the cars are stock no mods and they buy them from GM with no warranty. After that year they have a broker who whole sales them and the new owners have the option of getting a powertrain warranty. Rick Malone told us also that the Fast and Furious guys Vin Diesel and crew used this track to practice on which is cool in itself. You will either be using the paddle shift or stick during the entire class. The photographer is awesome he was hired by GM to do all of their schools. You can buy the pics on a thumb drive and buy the larger prints at a later time and they keep all the pics for ever at the school etc for promotional advertising. One instructor Todd is 6'5 and fits in these C7s like a normal person. They also have women instructors which is cool in itself. This school is 56 miles from Vegas and the speed limit is 70. Rick Malone suggest you set your car on 70 miles an hour and cruise because they will give you a ticket. Its a long stretch of road and you want to go faster. To get onto this property you either have to be a member or going thru this class period. Its like a private country club. We had a guy who has deep pockets and no family who comes from Canada two to three times a yr and he drives his vette. They know him by first name basis now. I suggest you eat lightly during lunch because you don't want to get sleepy. I drove several different colored vettes. What you learn here can be applied to everyday driving and this crew is awesome. When you do the hot run with the instructors, they will make what you learned look like childs play driving with his finger tips, talking on two radios and giving you instructions at the same time. Its amazing the G's this car can take and how they pushed it with us in it. They told us they were only pushing 70% of the car with us in it but it felt like 100%. You will regret it not going to this school. Me and my club are going back ASAP. When I got back to my club and we went to the drag strip, I observed everything they were doing wrong ( and they think they can drive). Didn't see not one person using Launch control because most of them don't know the correct way. Your seating position is very important and they will show you how you need to sit in this C7 so you won't get fatigue etc and it works. You will be amazed that you can turn corners in these C7's by just using the brakes and they will show you how to throttle and turn thru curves doing 90 miles an hour and hitting your APEXs at the same time. Remember you must 100% focus ALL THE TIME on the track clear everything and everyone out of it and focus on the training.
The women or riding alongs get their pictures taking also with your package deal. We ended up with 45 Nascar quality photos when we finished and the group photo is awesome also. They have already sent me the discounted price to return. When you graduate you get a sticker that you can put in on your windshield to show others that you have been trained to drive this BEAST. Really if you thought you knew this car, you really don't until you go to this school. This school should be given before taking delivery. You will not find any YOUTUBE videos that will school you on this vehicle like going to this school. Rick Malone will be at our annual indoor car show this year also.

Excellent review!!
I was there in October last year and can't wait to go back for the Level 2 class.

I was there last June, temps were 105-107. Anyone can buy land, build a track, and buy a lot of cars. But, as you said, Rick and the rest of the instructors really made the class great.

I just did Level 2 last week.... there were 16 of us total and more than half were in Z06's. All manuals. I stuck with a Z51 Stingray and placed 4th fastest time (2:01) on the N-S track with the added busstop-carousel-loop sector for a total of 2.7 miles per lap.

I was the fastest Stingray while the top 3 were in Z06 cars (fastest Z06 time was a 1:57). Yes I had a blast....the instructors were calling me "Z06 hunter". :D
