Look at that T-38 on side.

Well if I get to Florida with the Vette that picture is definitely happening.

Are those Talon T-38s armed? Just wondering since they also accompany the Space Shuttle during landings.

Not to my knowledge, I've never heard of one armed, and they're owned by NASA usually, not the USAF. It's based off the F-5, the T-38 is only used in training as a supersonic trainer (the first one actually). If there were an emergency the Air National Guard would have to be called.

And trust me those things are loud, especially in 4-ship formation.

I though I once seen t38s at either robins or dobbins afb?

Anyone pilots here?

ec1990 01-22-2013 04:07 PM

I know a little, I don't think there's any based there, but could be flying around doing training.

So I take it you are lol.

This was years ago while in CAP. They helped me get my students pilots license and my gliders license at pine mountain ga at the ripe age of 15 after completing my solo flight.

Awesome program

Ps we also toured Lockheed when the f22 was classified. I remember seeing the very tops of the vertical stabilizers in awe. I irrc it was still black; not yet grey.

Nice, I had a friend who interned there when they were building the 22 there. It's going to be years before anyone including me ever understands what that aircraft has and the capabilities of it.
