We can finally see the vivid orange and rapid blue camaro visually now! |
Finally!
|
That view of the Vivid Orange is nowhere NEAR as sexy as the marketing image they release. :(
|
Looks like "Carbon fibre instrument panel trim" is no longer an interior option for 2022 model.
|
Looking more closely, they aren't currently offering the dark (black?) fender hashmark on the Vivid Orange (which was shown in the marketing image as a combo), and don't offer the hashmarks on the ZL1 trim at all (maybe that's the norm?). What are the chances that more options like this will open up slowly?

Center Stripe Change
Just a heads up for anyone who ordered one of the "center stripe" options... they changed the length of them.
I picked the black metallic center stripe for my 2021 build which I placed in February but it never got picked up. In June, I changed to a 2022 build and picked the same options. Noticed the 2022 configurator had the stripe looking different; it now extends past the hood opening, or "decklid" as it's described in the configurator. This isn't good for me since I added spider stripes and now they would be different lengths. Thankfully there's now center stripe "stinger" options that match the length of the spider stripes... for black, it's a satin option as opposed to metallic but that's fine with me since I was already doing black satin mirrors/spoiler. Of course my order was JUST picked up before the configurator went online and dealer doesn't seem confident stripe can be changed so may be stuck fixing them afterwards. So wanted to pass along just in case another else was using center stripes so they're not surprised by the change... or maybe the stripe always extended to the "decklid" before but it wasn't represented that way in the 2021 configurator. |

"Decklid" is actually referring to the trunk, not the piece in front of the hood. I'm not getting stripes on mine, but out of curiosity - is there a difference in how the options listed under "Colors" and the ones under "Exterior" are applied? Both vinyl, or are the Colors ones painted? I plan on keeping mine for a long time and didn't want to deal with caring for the vinyl stripes - they were a royal PITA on my ex-wife's Mini - but I might have changed my mind if they are painted... |

For stripe options listed under "Colors" as opposed to "Exterior" from what I understand, "colors" are done at the plant and "exterior" are done at the dealer. Hopefully the black metallic stripe I no longer want isn't painted on! Dealer wasn't describing it that way since he said changing stripes would be easy but I'm not 100% convinced he knows for sure. I guess if my center stripe is painted on, I'll have to go with "aftermarket" spider stripes to match the length because it looks bad to me having them be different lengths... glad I caught this before taking delivery but still frustrated there was no way of telling until seeing the it in the configurator. |
