My wife just got a Mazda C5 about 6 or 7 months ago.
To be honest, I wasn't even planning on buying a new car, my check engine light went on my 01 Accord so I wanted to take it in to get looked at. My wife said just trade it in and get a new one since my birthday is Saturday. So we are both good now. She did love the 4 door Jeep Wrangler in the showroom of the dealership. She said she wanted one of those.

I don't have that issue. Probably the only way I can afford the car lol.

A divorce lol. Jk. But I don't agree on the equal purchase thing. If you absolutely have to buy something equal for her- don't get a car for her unless it's another Camaro or vette. Just my opinion. Other vehicles don't have that love feeling that you get with your Camaro purchase. Hmmmm... Maybe put an addition to your home with a nice hot tub or inground fiberglass pool!

In my case I promised I would drop the idea of getting another Harley (motorcycles scare her) so it was really more of a compromise. I still get bike fever every once in a while, however it's not so hard to take if I can walk out and get in my Camaro.
