Is why I take the back roads anytime I go places. Went to my son's place to visit, about a two hour drive. Plenty of highways, expressways, and interstates to take, but I can't stand traffic anymore, and stupid people.
Takes a bit longer but it is so more of an enjoyable ride. I'm at a point now I don't need to get from point A to point B in the quickest time, so my ride is about 1/3 highway, 2/3 back roads. Some pics taken during different segments of the trip back home. No traffic. |
beautiful roads! its the best part of our country to drive through.

Nice pics! Sometimes the quickest way is not the best...

When I took my 4 year sabbatical from working, I did a lot of driving (350,000 miles in a few cars combined). Took the back roads at every opportunity, including crossing the US from Atlanta to Seattle while only driving 50 miles on an Interstate I was forced on to heading into Utah. That included taking dirt roads as well in my SUV, though I mostly avoided that in my Corvette or Camaro.
This is one example of a recent trip back from an In n' Out Burger run down to Medford. Surely beats taking I5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbfqo2zMais |

Norm, thanks for sharing. I agree with you guys, love the back roads. When I head from Indy to Bowling Green for Camarofest, it will be back roads. It adds time, but the view makes up for it. |
Very nice
