Picked up #1181 yesterday

Drove to my dealer in Atlantic City yesterday to take delivery (Kerbeck Chevrolet) it was about a 3.5 hour drive and what a rush it was. This car is simply amazing. I've attached some pics and really can't begin to describe how fun the drive home was. I got no less than a dozen thumbs up and waves by people staring...watched one guy film me on his camera even! lol

The car is everything I had hoped for, pictures just don't do it justice, you simply have to experience it. I also can't say enough about my experience with Dave and the team at Kerbeck. A few minor snags that Dave quickly solved...top notch customer service.

If you have specific question about my 200 mile trip home let me know. I'll be gone most of tonight but I'll try to answer as many as I can. Admittedly the infotainment is a bit challenging but I think once I play with it for a bit I'll get it sorted out.

Guys and gals.....it's worth the wait!

Give us feedback on the ride (rough, comfy, etc...) and the intrusiveness of the AFM? Danke schein! :thumb:

Doc,

I ordered the Blade Silver also....is it a good looking Silver...sometimes Chevy has a silver that pops and sometimes it doesn't....you pleased? Was hoping to see a few pics about 15ft away tro see the look when it was cleaned and shined

ibrahim 09-29-2013 02:09 PM

so i will got that too ?

PYROLYSIS 09-29-2013 04:00 PM

Congrats on that beautiful Stingray! I wish we could get red interior on the Camaro. Yours looks great.

??? So on a 2LT w/red Interior you get red stitching on the dash & steering wheel? How about the gear shift boot? When you get time can you take additional interior pictures showing the stitching? I will be placing my order in a few weeks and the 2LT could be the direction I am going after looking at your car.

occar 09-29-2013 05:14 PM

2LT with red looks good/ok. 3LT where red goes over the dash just looks weird in my opinion.

bnall40 09-29-2013 10:01 PM

Doc, Congrats again.. Your Blade Silver with options is gorgeous! Have a couple of Qs:
How many days from production date to delivery? My VIN; 1G1YM2D78E510152 build date was 9/17. On 9/27 dealer says still on the lot at BG,KY??? Q2; On the way home did you drive in ECO mode? If so, what was the MPG? Thanks, Sam

jsvette 09-30-2013 03:24 AM

Looks great Doc- enjoy!!! Was the transparent roof panel in the back? :)

zimm888 09-30-2013 09:38 AM

How do you like the red seats? Color looks good in person?

Think you'll grow tired of it or it'll last.

I remember when everyone was doing maroon interiors back in the day. Not anymore lol

Sierramadre 10-01-2013 11:49 AM

Nice! Congrats. Looks great. Silver really flattters the body shape.

Corvette7Tuning 10-01-2013 11:55 AM

shes beautiful! Looks like she belongs to a great home. Best of luck!

Yes...the 2LT gets the red stitching on the dash and on the shift boot. I'm really happy with the silver, I had SIM with my 5th Gen Camaro and loved that...have the same silver color on my Jag XF, so I tend to stick with what I like.

I removed the "Stingray" letters from the back for what I think is a cleaner look as well.

There is a place for the "spare" roof to snap into place in the back, hols it very firm.

My feedback on the ride itself is that it's simply amazing. I took an exit ramp the other day, 270 degree turn at 63 MPH and it felt like it was on a rail. No slip or even the slightest bit of feeling that it was loose.

I have only three small, minor complaints and one of them is probably my ineptness:

1. When the lights turn on and the sun is not all the way down, the center screen is nearly washed out.

2. The touch screen shows EVERY fingerprint, and you have to really "touch" it to get the icons to reconginize your fingertip.

3. The automatic seat setting (i.e. driver 1, or driver 2) doesn't seem to work for me. I need to figure that one out...it's likely operator error.

I'd also let you know what while your iphone can stream music from Pandora and your itunes list to be heard, if you want the center console to actually control the functions of the phone it has to be connected via USB.

Great car though guys...very impressed.

Silver is very nice, it shows all the lines. I have one car in the stable that is Artic Silver. So I wanted to change it up so I could tell them apart when they sit next to each other in the garage.. For my C7 I'm going with C-Gray;)

I actually prefer the more 'positive' pressure over an overly touchy screen. At least it doesn't hum every time you touch it like the XTS does.

I would be curious if your nav occasionally resets the map view though. Ours resets to 'north up' view every so often from the 'direction up' view.

She's lookin good.....

CruznCorvette 10-21-2013 05:39 AM

Nice Ride !!!

Nice Ride Doc .... thanks for posting the photos. I ordered the same color combo, except non Z51 package. I think the 3lt trim with the red on the dash looks a little tacky. The red stitching in 2lt trim sets it off nicely.

Can you fit 1 or 2 sets of golf clubs in the back???

Very nice ride Doc! I have the Cyber Metallic Gray C7 and I agree, its an amazing ride. You just feel locked in when cornering. If I had a complaint it would be with the 1st thing you mentioned, when the lights turn on, but that would be me just being picky. Congratulations and enjoy your ride!:happyanim:

I have a 2013 SRX and 2014 1500.Both have Nav.My Garmin is still heads above the GM Nav.I am glad I didn,t order it on my C7.I also agree it takes a lot to work touch screen.Cheers
