Man, I hope they bring it back. That would be epic.

I figured the Z/28 was coming when the SS debuted a day early.

I really don't see it happening, but...who knows. We might be surprised.

Honestly GM has bigger fish to fry regarding RWD. Particularly at Cadillac.

I know it's not likely but we can dream, right?

Fen, if* I become Undisputed Commandante, would you drive Superbeast for me?

I'm still on the fence with the styling of that cts. Something about it just didn't catch my eye. Chevys seems to be a little cheaper to have worked on at the stealership as well.

I agree. I love the front but the back of the coupe looks odd for some reason. Cadillac stealerships really need to step it up compared to other luxury brands. The service and respect that I get when I bring my Dad's Benz in is outstanding, yet when I go to Cadillac I feel like I walked into a chevy dealer.

The problem is too much wheelbase. Cut a wedge out between the door and the rear wheel and it would be awesome.

I sure hope not. GM needs something to put the Viper in its place (again)

Aparently, the current Z06 wZ07 package is essentially a match for the all new Viper

Ehh...probably not.

So ... it'll be a 454 then?

Only one speaker though.

Looks like some form of stereo upgrade will be an option as well.

You're still going on about Superbeast?

:D

I've been revising my design intentions over the last 2 years. However, I have decided that it is no longer in my best interest to share the details publicly.

Although, I will say this: I should probably be spending much more time on how I shall achieve the title of Supreme Commandante than what I will be driven around in once that happens.

Never the less ... if/when the time comes, will you be be my driver?

FenwickHockey65 05-19-2013 01:05 AM

I suppose. :P

I agree. I feel that this C7 Z06 is going to be an absolute monster.

Sounds like General Automotive rather than Off Topic to me? :iono:

Good info Fen

When will the c7 Vette be sitting in my driveway?

I already know the answer though

I know what you mean though. I doubt we'll see one for a while, if ever again.

I will say this: GM seems hell bent on doing at least something RWD again. There's a lot of chatter about Alpha and possibly developing a flexible, scalable RWD platform below Alpha.

Make this Caddy in inferno orange , white stripes and in my price range. Now that would be kewl !

Camaro_Corvette 05-20-2013 07:21 AM

Is GM going to put a Duramax in the 1500 series trucks?

I don't know, I think the whole car in general looks weird. It's sad too, I was looking forward to a two door CTS. But that would make it still a little more than I wanted to spend on a daily driver.

If chevy offered me a two door coupe with a V8 and a good exhaust tone. Push button start and keyless entry. Some plush leather seats, a HUD, and a modern cockpit with no retro crap. Add a great looking exterior to it:drool: Go ahead and slap whatever fricken name on it cause I won't care at that point. I will save up and buy.

Right now, the closest thing to that is the Chevy SS. And to be honest, I think I'm going to buy a Chevy SS. It's not a two door (which is a big deal to me). But it has everything I want in a daily driver. Problem is, I don't think it will last long enough for me to get one. I just ordered my camaro, it's going to at least be 3 years before I can afford to buy the Chevy SS. :(

Which brings me to my next question Fen. In your expert opinion. How long is GM going to build this Gen 1 Chevy SS? And would you expect a Gen 2? How long would you guess I have to pick one of these up given my situation?

I mean, Look at this freaking interior! OMG!

VF Commodore will only be around for a few years actually. With that being said, work on the next-generation Commodore is already underway. If that stays RWD then there will be a next-gen SS, or something similar.

FenwickHockey65 05-20-2013 07:58 AM

Oh, and half ton diesel wise, GM doesn't think the higher costs of the engine/fuel is worth it. But they're monitoring the market.
