My name is Tara, (no d'uh!) I'm in South Texas. My 1LE is my 9th Camaro and the only one newer than a '79. I currently only own two: my 2013 1LE and my '79 Z28 that I bought new. I wasn't going to post my age, but that sort of gives it away. Since Mark posted his age, I'll post mine. I'm also 53. I've had my 1LE since Monday the 12th, but been working and haven't enjoyed it until today. It has 300 miles on it now, and I absolutely love it!
I had dropped off my daughter and was driving home tonight with a light Starbucks' Mocha buzz when a youngster in a hopped up mid-2000s Mustang pulls up next to me and revs up and tries to goad me into playing. I let him show off a bit, but mostly ignored him until there was a clear spot of road ahead... I dropped it into 2nd and floored it! Omg, he was in my rear view mirror so fast! I just drove home with a chuckle after that! I hope his lil Mustang feelings weren't hurt too bad...
I was a soldier, too; a log time ago. I'm now an Army civilian employee. I was a civil servant for my local county for 28 years, but recently retired and started my second career.
Those of you who haven't received your cars yet...you're going to love them! This car handles so flat and firm, it's amazing. Gobs and gobs of power. I know that I want to get a CAI, but that's all I'm thinking about for the foreseeable future. The NPP exhaust sounds so good! I love the little crackle it has when you're engine braking and downshifting.
Funny thing happened on Monday; I caught the delivery truck just as it arrived at my dealership. I was taking photos of my car on the truck as the driver was preparing to unload. He was nice and I engaged him in conversation. Mind you, he unloads Camaros all day, every day. When he climbed into mine and cranked it, that NPP vrooom roared to life. He spontaneously looked at me and said, "THIS one sounds great!"
Well, that's my little slice of heaven. Y'all take care!
Tara
