Hello Chris, Yes, the ZL1 FLowtie is molded within the ZL1 upper grill and the only way to gain the Flowtie is to buy the entire upper grill. I did indeed cut the Flowtie (black) base from the grill. The chrome part of the Flowtie is essentially plastic welded to the base and can easily be removed from that black base in order to make a modifications, to paint for example. I then epoxied the chrome piece back to the black base.

I was lucky to find a lightly damaged ZL1 upper grill here on the forums.

Hello, Saw your post fabricating a Flowtie for your 1LE. I’m wanting to mod mine and want to verify, the piece that’s needed is a ZL1 Flowtie from the upper grille. Searched high and low for just the flowtie by its self, with no luck. Not planning on paying 500-600 for a new flowtie upper grille just to cut that piece out. Maybe a wrecked grille might pop up for sale or something. Just wanted confirm that is the “piece” that is required for the OEM look. Thanks in advance! Best Regards, Chris
