C7 Corvette Weighs in at 90 Pounds More Than C6
The 2014 Corvette Stingray C7 may feature a frame that is 99 pounds lighter than the C6 Corvette, but the total car actually weighs 90 pounds more than the C6.
It’s not all bad news though, as the gain in weight comes on some critical performance parts – direct injection, brakes, driveshafts, the clutch, the fuel tank, etc.

Just 1/3 of Chevy dealers get initial allocations for 2014 Corvette Stingray
Fewer than one in three Chevrolet dealerships will be eligible to sell the 2014 Corvette Stingray when it begins rolling off the assembly line in late summer.
Last week, General Motors notified about 900 of its roughly 3,000-plus Chevy dealerships that they have met the requirements to sell the redesigned Corvette, a GM spokesman says. Those dealerships can begin ordering 2014 Corvettes in the next few weeks.

First C7 Corvette Stingray Convertible to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson on April 5
Like the C7 Corvette Coupe, the first Corvette Stingray Convertible to be produced will also be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson, on April 5, 2013.
The auction proceeds will once again benefit a charity – the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
The first C7 Coupe to be built was won by Rick Hendrick back in January for a cool $1.05 million. Will he once again be the winner? We wouldn’t be surprised!
