Made It 9 Days Before Getting Pulled Over for Speeding

Well, I was doing pretty well, exercising self-control. Got my 2012 9 days ago. Then this morning around 0500 was on the way to work and had to get into the right lane to get onto the freeway entrance ramp. Instead of slowing and pulling in behind the 2 cars in the lane, I decided to get ahead of them, and just as I completed the lane change I see the squad in the median with his lights off. Crap! Wasn't even paying attention to my speed.
The officer was nice, at least. Got me going 16 mph over the limit.

And please don't interpret this as bitching, I know I deserved to get pulled over. Just hope it doesn't happen every 9 days. I haven't had a ticket in 17 years... Probably because I drove boring cars.

If your avatar name implies your occupation, you might have a license to speed.

thats gunna happen man, I took out my moms the day I helped her buy it that night and got followed by a cop for over a mile, he was just waiting for me to get on it. Let alone she picked out ticket red, but also dual mode exhaust so Im sure he thought I was gunna mess around. This is a reason idk if I could have the camaro over my jeep, even with my Borla catback on the jeep I dont get followed, only twice in 3 years of owning it. I think one in 17 years is legit, I got one a bit back for a similar situation. I was merging in and some a$$hat did that thing where you try and pass him and they accelerate, well I had to have hit 105 or so passing him and passed a cop. Luckly a cop saw the whole thing and only gave me a ticker for 5 over as he hit me on the radar at 90. Funny thing is the cop got the other guys license plate as he drove by and told me he would be looking into giving him one as well for what he did. Pick your battles people, being nice does wonders, police are friends not foes

When I'm at work I do, but not on the way.

Well unfortunately I wasn't on the freeway yet. On the road that intersects the freeway, and needed to get into the onramp lane. Officer was sitting on the raised median. I've seen them sit there before. Should've been smarter. It's just too easy to accelerate fast, especially after spending 7 years driving a CR-V.

Escort 9500ix or V1. Don't leave home without it.
