C7 Corvette Stingray Indy 500 Pace Car?

Indy 500 coming up in a few months only (May 26). What are the chances we see a C7 Corvette Stingray Indy 500 Pace Car?

Does it still qualify even if it won't have started production by then?

Nope doubt it but we never know... IIRC it's TBD but may still be the current ZR1... next year it'll likely be the new

Camaro was the Pace Car in 2009 when production has just barely begun.

Might be a stretch but we could hope...

I wouldn't be surprised to see it as the at all...between the couple of show cars and test mules that have been seen out and about I'm sure Chevy can get one there if asked.

Since they used a 2013 60th anniversary Corvette to pace the 2012 Indy 500 what do you think the chance of the 2014 Stingray has to pace the 2013 Indy 500?
If not it will definitely be the 2014 pace car in my opinion.

Even if the C7 isn't the pace car, hopefully it's at least there on display for the public to check out.

really, it should be the C7 ZR1 replacement up against the Viper if you're talking apples to apples. Although the old ZR1 beat the new Viper in a couple of tests already. But it's going to be a couple of years before we see that beast probably...

I read they are already testing the Grand Sport Replacement and the ZR1 replacement isn't far behind. So I say about 6 months after the Stingray comes out the new Grand Sport replacement will, then in 6 more months the ZR1 replacement will be out.
I don't think Chevy wants to not have a Viper competitor for very long.
I also read the Grand Sport may have 600HP and the next ZR1 have 700HP.. But those were just guesses.

I doubt there will be a Grand Sport for the C7 right away.

They probably will. I went last year and they had a ZL1.
