I don't need to worry about getting one in Ont. though as they are not sold north of the border.
The Charger is only a better price if you get a base one, also looks are subjective and the SS weighs a lot less. The SS only has three options, everything else is standard.

The Charger that I would get would be the Daytona 392 cost 40k to the SS 46k those are US prices as I live in Canada the cost would be 56k for the Charger and the SS is not for sale. If I lived in the US and was in the market for a 4 door the the Dodge would be the car.

No, it isn't.Truth be told when you buy a car the title/registration/insurance/LEOs know before you pull off the lot.

The part that keeps you under the radar is your driving history.

MSRP on a Daytona 392 is $44,035 vs the SS at $46,625.

This is why I am at a cross-road with the sedans (not really but in concept I am). The 'SS is excellent...let's stop beating around the bush. For my needs, its too much car. The 'SS would be subject to daily driving, not have the benefit of being covered 24-7, would have to return decent gas mileage, and be expendable in nature. The 'SS costs too much for me to use it casually, and I could not stand to drive it in the rain, sleet, snow, etc. This is where my current Malibu excels: Great interior, great ride, creature comforts, good gas mileage, excellent condition, etc. etc. etc.

For what GM asks for the 'SS, it should be at the level of the Charger SRT. It is, except in HP, and IMO its outer appearance guise. The Charger has a great front end, scoops, paint and great power. I feel that the 'SS could've benefited with better wheels, and a bump in power with the LT1. I can overlook a deficit of 30 HP, but 70 hp at nearly the same price and an appearance deficit is a bit much. I get it that Holden is closing out; It just leaves a lot to be desired.

Chevy and GM will need to get out of the old think of eliminating cars, and focus on both the new and traditional. Introduce new and current models, but don't toss out models that work but need development. The old think hurt Chevy with the Trailblazers: Think of what a modern TBSS could have been?? It is kind of hurting them with the Chevy SS, as it is on the cuff of the Charger; The Charger can't knock out the Chevy, but the Chevy can't knock out the Charger either. Chevy and GM needs to concentrate on their strengths, and reinforce their models, not eliminate them.

New charger is ugly as **** Everybody has their own opinion, but this is no contest to me. Chevy SS every day and twice on sunday. The price is fine. The options are awesome. And it looks great! I won't be mistaking these for a malibu anytime soon.

Charger can look good...

God I want a 2018. New push bumper, new light bar, new center console.

Reliability is questionable though, to put it nicely.

Yeah after you cover the ugly up with a criminal basher. That's a front end only a mother could love. Love the tailights, but that front end.

As everyone has their own idea what looks good but I will take the Charger Daytona, the SS is just to bland and plain looking, it could be front wheel drive and looks just like every FWD GM car

Saw a red SS on the way home from work today. First one I think I have seen in the wild. It definitely did catch my eye as different and sharp looking.

The SS is great...I like it being stealthy but still serious if you look at it closely.

I just wish they updated the MyLink to what we get in the Gen 6 Camaro because the old one is very outdated. Especially for a daily driver at that price I expect Apple Carplay.

Post #90: I couldn't stand to look at the two side by side. I am a dyed in the wool Chevy fan, but I am also an automobile fan. IMO the Charger wins in the appearance department, its almost no contest. Chevy needed to work with the busy front end and even the body contours. A better wheel choice would've helped the 'SS. Then we get to Horsepower. End of competition. The 'SS is an outstanding handler, comes with the m6 and the Chevy motor is healthy and almost limitless in potential. It just seems like a one sided fight on paper though. Chevy could've worked with the marketing a little better, and somehow presented this one as a more track and road course oriented car; I believe that this is where the 'SS is leaning to. Instead, Chevy just stopped and let it come out to market with almost no promotion.

That is why if I had to choose between the two, I would pick neither car (or...maybe the Hellcat), and move over to a GMC Sierra Twin Cab or a Corvette.

Chevy should recognize the need of an attractive rear drive sedan, and follow it up with a full model in both v8 power and 4 cylinder economy.
