Did you own a camaro before this one? What's your history?

No, owned a Nissan Maxima before this and before that I was all into imports like crazy. always liked AMERICAN muscle cars though. When the Camaro was rereleased I knew I had to have one! I don't know how I'll ever go below 8 cylinders again! I'm addicted

I've had three other Camaros besides the one I own now. The one with the most memories was the first one (of course!). My dad and I were always talking about what we'd do together. Sometimes it was going moose hunting up north, other times it was buying a car to fix up together. Unfortunately, it was all talk as we never did any of it. He passed away when I was 19 so I decided that I'd save my pennies and get the car that we were going to fix up. I finally found a red '79 Camaro Z/28 that I fell in love with. The great thing was it was in really good shape (bought it in '85 when it was only 6 years old) and was for sale at $3k. I drove that car far more than what I probably should have but I loved it and would always think of my dad when I was driving it.

Here's a picture of one just like mine. It's not mine but other than the louvers on the back, it's the spitting image of the one I had.



About 18 months after I bought this I joined the Air Force and bought an red '87 Camaro (sensing a trend yet?) when I got to my first duty station. I sold that one about 2 years later as I had gotten married and a Camaro isn't really a good fit for driving with kids.

It was another 27 years before I bought another Camaro. This one was a blue 2012 2LS. Traded that one in about 5 months after I bought it for the red 2014 2SS I have now.

When I was young, I was a little too much of a drinker to be into the car scene. Just couldn't hold on to a driver's license long enough for anything like that. I thank God every day today that I never involved anyone else in my stupidity. On June 1st, 1997 I put the plug in the jug and haven't had a drop since.

But after my last dui and subsequent 5 year revocation, I bought a nice little '95 MX6 Mazda. This was back in 2000. I drove that car for about two years while I was getting things back together. Then, in '02, I started looking at '00-'01 Monte Carlos. Stopped by a Chevy dealer one day. They didn't have any used ones on the lot that matched what I wanted, but the sales guy caught me eyeing a '00 SS. He said, what the hell, why not just go for a spin. I didn't buy that car, but I never looked at another Monte again either. Shortly thereafter I found a nice black '98 Z28, and took 'er home.

Four years later I traded it in for a '96 LT4 Vette with 24K miles. I loved that car with my heart and soul to the tune of 140K miles in 8 years. In '14, I moved down here to Houston, where 5th Gen Camaro's must be the State Car, they're everywhere, and liked every one of them I saw. So after selling the Vette, it was just becoming more trouble than I could handle, I traded the daily in for my '11 SS. Got a really bad deal, upside down on my Caddy and all, but I don't regret the move. Still wish I would've kept the Vette though...in addition to the SS.

Always have been building my cars (Most of them Camaro's !!!) This, is my last big build (its missing the YSI blower set up and some interior on/in it as i was just finishing the 5 year build when those pics we're taken. Just trying out everything and rr brakes were stuck!!! Lol!!)

This is the last Car i sold, just after christmas when i decided to try the new generation of Muscle cars. Yep, an All ORIGINAL and ALL numbers matching a/c car. 48k miles NEVER APART. A real nice survivor. The cleanest untouched car i ever seen in my life. Let it go cause i could not come to doing anything to it but was a real nice driver.




Its funny.... From looking at cars on here, i see im not the only one that has a Vintage car background lol!! Seems were all tired of fighting the mechanicals and are due for a break to just "enjoy" for a change!! Lol!! Lots of members from another forum also.... Seems we really have the same taste also!!

I still have a chassis car 69 here thats sold to a buddy thats paying it off and a complete '69 Dynacorn shell on the rack thats going up for sale. (Complete car taken apart and in boxes to put back together the new shell comes with it. ALL new metal and performance suspension etc....

Yep. Im giving these up for awhile!!!

MY first LSX really changed the hobby for me.

Mod / Tune / Insert Key/ Drive!!!

I used my H&C 1998 Vette for a daily driver...404 RWHP was pretty good back in 04' & 05'. My oil pressure sensor went haywire was my only repair. .
I never went back into the engine as long as I owned it.

And, living in the deep south late-model factory AC is great
