WHY IS THE BACK SECTION A DIFFERENT SHADE OF COLOR?
This may have been answered before but why is there always a difference in the color on these camaro's from the door back? I was told by a body shop guy that they are painted at a different place instead of all at one time. Could someone explain why?

no it is because the rear quarters are flared out and it makes a shadow so to speak, it reflects the light differently, therefore it looks like its a different color.

colors look slightly different if the parts are made of different materials as well, like plastic vs aluminum or fiberglass etc...
After ruling that out you look into the whole shade issue causing an illusion of being slightly different in colour

Well that is what I told him exactly but he is in the body shop business and he has painted some after they had some damage and he allows that after he has painted them you do not see a difference in the color. I told him he was wrong about them being painted at different places. I agree you cannot see it on darker colors but some of the lighter colors you can. |

Some colors you can see it more than others. The Hot Wheels edition color is where you can see the difference. Tends to be a different color on metal then fiberglass.

...it's the metallic flakes in some of the paint colors. This makes the colors contrast inbewteen shade and light. At times it gives a visual appearance of two different shades, or even a different color.
