Positive reviews and the press seems impressed. The WT trim would be my choice with that awesome 450 mi range.

Too expensive. I don't see our store having many buyers for the $100k versions. I certainly won't be ordering them for stock.

Always a fan of the Avalanches functionality. Like the style of the RST but it needs a functioning sunroof and is priced too high to me to give serious consideration. Seems like they are another year away from actually being on dealer lots.

Saw a GM commercial that said “EV’s for everyone, everywhere”, all I see are Teslas and a few KIA’s in Naperville and Lemont IL.

I still like how Ford basically took an F-150 and just made it electric, the styling on the Silverado EV leaves a lot to be desired but it sure seems to be more efficient offers more practicality

So someone explain like I am 5, how is the Chevy able to get so much more range than the F-150 lightning? Is it because the lightning is closer to a traditional F-150 and the silverado is on this fully dedicated EV platform?

GM decided on a dedicated platform rather than a hack-a-chassis attempt to get to market first. Aerodynamic efficiencies and packaging gains on a clean slate design.

Currently, the only vehicle being produced is the 4WT work trim, at a whopping $79,800 (delivered), but that does offer a big 450-mile range. The non-fleet RST First Edition has a 400-mile range and will cost $106,895.

Yes! The Silverado EV has a much more efficiently design platform from the ground up and a much bigger battery. The top models, RST & 4WT come installed with the biggest battery pack. The future 1, 2, and 3WT models will have smaller less costly batteries but also lower descending range in each.

I really like this truck and I'm a fan of the old Avalanche but I can't quite come up with the coin for this first edition RST version.

It MSRPs almost 80K. That's around $20K more than my 6.2 2020 Denali cost me with my discounts. Right now it says on the highway (why else would you want to go 450 miles?) I get around 24- ish MPG. To which I'm really happy with.

Thus, estimate even 5 bucks per gallon in fuel cost. Could be more, could be less, but for this estimation it'll be 5 bucks.

$20K /5 bucks/gal. = 4,000 gallons of fuel. At 24-ish mpg, that's still racking up 96,000 miles of travel. It's paid off and I've owned it a little over 3 years now and just turned 6K miles on it recently on a 1500 mile round trip. At this rate, I'll have a mere 26K miles on it in 2033.

And that's BEFORE you plug that EV in for the first time and pay for that electricity.

No thanks. I'll save money by keeping what I got. Gas would have to be over $20/gallon for me to have it make financial sense.

They have a stiff unibody like structure... tip-toeing toward the EV Escalade.
Why wouldn't they: Just skip the Hummer; Work the bugs out with a couple focused trims of this EV Avalanche; Then already by now have an EV Escalade with the watts to freedom 0-60?

gm's decisions appears fearful.
They're more worried about pacing the Cyber Truck than grabbing their next reliable billion or so.

Trucks do a lot of things well, in different configurations. And there's a point where allowing the frame to flex is helpful. The battery cells aren't there for more than narrow case users, or even to let them spec the other things cheap enough.
