2010 2SS/RS M6. The only modification I have is the replacement K&N filter. I use my car for a daily driver. heck I'll drive this car anywhere and road trips are not off limits either with me. City driving I get around 17-18 miles per gallon and when I'm out on the highways ill get around 26 miles to the gallon.

I don't granny it on the freeway. I go between 60-70.
Ah, that explains it. Not sure if that was tongue in cheek, but 60-70 is definitely grannying on the freeway. I'm usually in the 80-85 range.

when I got my car, i had an 8 mile round trip commute. A month later it became a 70 mile round trip commute (98% highway). Picked up the car on 6/16/11 and now have 50,600miles on it. I love commuting in it. I would absolutely recommend it. Im getting 24-26mpgs between the 5 days commuting and running errands around town.

Right now I have a '67 Camaro as my "fun" can, and a 2002 station wagon as my daily driver. I put about 70 miles per day on the daily driver (commute, etc), and I'm going to need to replace it this summer.

While looking around at my options, a 2013 2LS would stretch our budget, but it might be possible. Does anybody use their 5th gen Camaro as a commuter, or am I crazy for even thinking about it? Otherwise I'd be looking at mid-size sedans in a similar price range.

Things like ride comfort during a daily commute, how realistic is the 30 MPG that they advertise for the V6, reliability... etc.

Thanks!
I daily drive my car with all its mods 25K miles a year.. been running strong the last 3 1/2 years.. I put snow tires on for the winter snow..

Mr Meissen, speed limit in Michigan is 70mph...........LOL.
Going with the flow of traffic changes day to day, some days I am doing 72 and blasting by everyone, some days 80 and I am in the slow lane.
I also have about 18-20 miles I do back country roads that max out the mpg's, so my avg can stay in the 26-28 range.

I have gotten as high as 34, but this was on Old US23 from Mackinaw City to Tawas doing only 51-57 mph.

Thanks!
I used my previous 2010 1SS as a daily driver, and never had a lick of trouble with it, including about 70-80 1/4 mile runs, and about 60 dyno pulls. I could regularly get about 18mpg in town and 25 to 28 on the hwy with it. Put about 34k miles on it before trading it in on a 2013 2LS.

I think the 30mpg hwy is very realistic, the car isn't even broke in yet with only 1100 miles on it, and the one trip (443 miles, driving 65-75 sometimes up to 80 to pass) that I made the DIC read 30.1 miles when I got back home. w/ about 10% hwy miles and the rest city miles i'm seeing about 21-23 mpg... I've yet to just do a full tank in the city, but I am on the start of my first w/ 50 miles on the current tank and I'm at 20.7 on the DIC... I checked the DIC vs real math at the pump and the DIC was within 0.1 vs the math, so I imagine it's pretty close. Will check again this time. If it's doing this good on mpg now, I can't wait until it's broke in. I'm hoping for 22-24 in town, and 31-32 on the hwy.

It's fairly comfortable, and handles great, but visibility is poor as I'm sure you already know. As far as reliability, I really can't say yet, as it's only got 1100 miles.

I wanted a 2010-2011, but all the local dealers were charging the same or MORE than a brand new 2013 was going to cost, even a used 2010 1LS w/ 30k miles they wanted 24k for and would not budge... That's when I said "screw you guys, I'll just go down the road and buy a new one"

Can't believe I'm the first to say it, but if you're on a tight budget and want to save money, you can get a 1LS for about a grand cheaper, and also as well, for a car oofthis caliber, the price tag is ridiculously cheap... Any car that is priced similar to the LS just isn't comparable in terms of what you get.. also, you'll never get bored of driving stick!

Too much Highway Patrol presence on my commute to throw down those numbers.
LOL.

2013 lt2 rs. 54 miles daily commute. I'm getting around 22 mpg. The salesman told me they were all-season. Went home and looked up. Kind of pisses me off, cause i asked him 3 times. I live in ohio, so I have 2 buy a second set now. Didn't know about the tps system. MS for all-season.

130 miles per day at 22 MPG premium gas was going to be over $500 per month. So we bought a Prius and made the SS vert our weekend car.

Drive mine as a DD and love it. Very comfortable on trips and commute. Made me wish I got one in 2010, but never thought the kids would fit in the back comfortably. I should have just tried it!
