Resonated X pipe???

I have a CAI with the air scoop and the water bottle is relocated, just put on MRT V2 axle backs. Might be a stupid question but what does a resonated X pipe do???

An X pipe will replace the factory H pipe. The benefit of an X pipe over an H pipe, is the X pipe will provide better scavenging. Basically, as every pulse of the exhaust passes through the X it creates a vacuum to help pull the next pulse from the other side of the X. This helps the engine breath easier and more efficiently.

The resonated X is essentially a perforated X pipe with a muffler surrounding it. They will quiet down the exhaust and reduce rasp.

Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions. We offer anything and everything Magnaflow at unbeatable prices.

Obviously, headers are not a concern/possibility for LFX-equipped cars, so I might modify the statement to say that it's a good idea to consider a resonated x-pipe for any V-6 exhaust redo.

If that's the case just a regular x pipe would work with the LFX engines because our headers are built into the engine right. Will a regular x pipe quiet the exhaust as well?

It will change the exhaust note but not by much.

The use of the resonated x-pipe you are seeing is to help get rid of the drone with the MRT v2. It is pretty effective if you find the drone annoying but it will make the exhaust a bit quieter.

It's 100% needed if you have any after market exhaust.

But you dont have to go Resonated if u dont want to, i went Magnaflow TruX instead..easier to fit and sounds good without being obnoxious.

Did going TruX introduce any more rasp or drone or did it actually take some away?

No rasp at all...i think it sounds good. I have Solo HFC that i installed at the same time as Tru X. Then running an Axle Back Dynomax VT system. I still have the factory resonator after the X pipe. At some point i may eliminate it, but for now no complaints.
