TPMS issues, been to dealer 4 time so far.

As stated above, I have been having issues with the TPMS in my car since almost new. The first occurrence was at just under 8000 miles. "Service Tire Monitor System" comes up on DIC, yellow light, and it will stop reading one or more of the sensors. Dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong, as by the time I got the car to them, the light had gone off. After that, I kept trying to take it to the dealer with the light on. After months of frustration of trying to make that happen, I just started taking pictures of the dash with the yellow light and the mileage, along with a picture of the DIC with the TPMS pressure screen up. I then provided a copy of the pictures to the dealer, then they confirmed that there was a problem. On the second visit, they replaced all TPMS sensors. After that, the problem was actually worse. On the third visit, about a week or two later(1500 miles later), they called me in and told me that it was probably the LED bulbs in the DRLs, along with the Gen5diy DRL harness causing interference with the system. I just said "ok, and reached under the car while still at the dealer and pulled the harness and bulbs out, replacing the bulbs with the factory ones(just before thanksgiving). Guess what? on 26 December, took it back again. Still problems. They replaced the BCM, but made sure to say, "it might be that the harness you had in there messed the computer up". Ok guy, whatever. Guess what? Last night, happened again. This time, had an online chat with the GM customer care website and was assigned a case number. They are supposed to contact me (the dealer) within 24 hours to bring the car back to the dealer. This will be visit number 5.

The most frustrating part? I have a $7000 magnuson blower, ZL1 rockers and rear diffuser, ZL1 fuel pump and FPCM, and $300 worth of Autometer gauges sitting on the floor of my shop just waiting to install, but I can't do it because of this issue! I know as soon as I install and flash the computer with HPtuners, I'm done for warranty-wise. Last thing I need is to drive the car around for the next 4 years with the yellow light on the dash all the time because they can't figure it out. I just want the car fixed. It is causing all kinds of second- and third-order issues, like above, and also since the wife leases her 2013 Acadia Denali, we have to drive it all over since my car is always in the shop, and I hate rentals. We estimated the mileage for the lease based on her driving the car to and from work 3 times a week, and we usually take my car everywhere on the weekends and evenings. This time, I'll be getting a rental, we will just drive the dang wheels off the thing.

We will see where it goes from here I suppose.

TPMS issues are annoying. Didn't have issues on my OEM sensors but my winter set has the cheap Dorman sensors and they crap out all the time! I notice that they lose signal in specific areas where you'd expect a lot of RF interference

My car still has the factory tires and wheels. I want to go aftermarket on the wheels, and would still use GM sensors, but don't want to touch anything until this is all sorted out.

I feel you man. My wifes 13 2LT RS has been in for the same problem 6 times. They relpaced the two of the tire sensors, a connector the Onstar mirror and the BCM. Along the way GM (not the dealer) blamed the toll tag which was removed and proven not to be an issue. After the BCM didn't fix it, they're now blaming my non metalic 3M window tint. I told my GM customer service rep that I will not remove the tent until she provides me with a TSB that tells me how non metallic window tint interferes with the system, and what specifically in the tint causes interference. That was on 12/16. I haven't heard a word for my customer service rep since.

Since the last time I talked to GM I have video of the TPMS going off with the window down.

For some reason I haven't seen your thread or the other threads until now. I thought I had more of a unique issue. I'm sure they will blame it on the tint now too.

Here's another thread I started when it first started happening. The first post describes what's going on.

Very similar to what I have going on. I'm sorry, but a flashing yellow light on my dash coming on randomly isn't something that is acceptable. I didn't pay what I did for this car to have flashing lights on my dash. That's why I bought brand new!

If they cannot fix it in more than 3 times, Lemon Law the car. You shouldn't have to put up with the headaches spending that much money.

Other than the fact that I don't want a 2014. I hate the grille and taillights. And the lemon law thing is it's own pain in the butt. They've already tried to fix it 4 times, and this time will be #5. This is the first time I've contacted GM directly, so i'll let this run it's course. I am documenting everything in case I have to file a lemon law claim. Not so easy in Alabama, as they have to try 3 times to fix it, I have to then send a certified letter stating my intention to file a lemon law claim, and then they get another shot at fixing it. I also have to go through the "manufacturer's internal dispute resolution process". If it comes to that, i'll just get a lemon law specialist lawyer.

I started the process on my first 12 vert due to so many issues including the top that they gave me a buyback instead. Good luck

Do you happen to have a Scosche kit installed? I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the Scosche adapter kit. See this thread:

Nope. They made me take out my LED DRL bulbs and Gen5diy harness though and put the stock ones back in. Other than that, not a single mod to the electrical system.

Sounds like they are really reaching on this. The guy two offices down from me just bought a 2014 GMC 1500 and his TPMS works fine with tinted windows and the signal has to go alot farther too.

My wife has a 2013 Acadia Denali. Had the windows tinted the day after we picked it up. Guess what? No issues. And it's a long vehicle.
