I wonder why production was so low last month? Gearing up the the 2013 model year to start production?

Slow decline due to continued carryover of LS3/L99? The General needs to freshen it up a bit if they want trade-up sales!

Still sold 500+ more Camaros this June vs. last June (2011). Sales are growing.

Still sold more Camaros in the last year, and the last three years, than Mustang. Still winning.

And I still don't see that many new Mustangs on the road, see as many Chalangers. People must be trying to hide them due to looks

It has everything to do with incentives. There are a lot of great deals out there right now for the GT's... it's a good time to buy one.

2012 Mustang GT $3,000
2013 Mustang $1,000

2012 Camaro $0

Ford has stepped up

Actually, Ford has really stepped up their product. HID and sequential LED turn signals are standard on all trims, HID are optional on Camaro, and no option for read LED's. Recaro racing seats are available on Ford, where GM doesn't even offer them. Mostly Ford has learned to make most of the really desirable options available across all trims, whereas they used to reserve the best options for the premium trim levels. The fact that you couldn't get bluetooth or USB on a Mustang GT was insane.

The aggressive use of factory to dealer incentives also don't hurt.

Either way, these two cars are priced in the same range so if Ford is giving more bang for the buck it's going to be a tough sell for Chevy. Unless they step up w/ something other than My Link, frameless RVM and Navigation I doubt they'll be outselling their chief rival the rest of this year or for 2013.

Ford has indeed stepped it up, I think they are making sure they take back the sales lead with incentives. They can't be making nearly as much profit per unit as the Camaro, can it?

most likely. I was looking at inventory at some dealers in my area they didn't have much. heck, the closest one only had 2 in stock. and both high end, high $$$ 2SS models.

They don't care about who is leading sales.

They use the incentives to keep factory production at a certain level.

It's a bad habit. Customers will start to expect discounts.

I know when I bought my trucks I didn't even look if there wasn't at least 4500 cash back.
