9.99 and faster, yeah since it's a factory stock car.

My guess is they're anticipating that on the race gas timing map and on the DR's, in the right air, it could hit sub 10's. If a car is running the 1/4 in the 10.2X-10.4X in normal conditions it's not unreasonable to expect a potential for dipping into the single digits.

Man why all the hate? These Dodges are really cool and over the top. They put the muscle in muscle cars. And they look great.

So what if they are two generation old Mercedes platforms. Not everyone wants a small "sports" car that is hard to see out of without a usable back seat or a pony car seen in almost every driveway.

I wish I had a bigger pocket book, a four car garage and a more generous CFO. Can't wait to see the new Dodge at Atco and hope for a manual so we all have a chance.

Good stuff on the hard parts. Gives me some ideas to upgrade my rear diff which is still stock in my Challenger. It's about the only thing left stock and we're all shocked it hasn't exploded yet LOL.

VERY glad it's not AWD. That's not what this car is for.

I hope they figure something out on the fender flares.

BTW, that's a bolt in harness bar, not a roll bar of any kind. My buddy designed it and it's been around a while. Dodge just badged it with Demon logos.

Ok lets clarify. We will eliminate the high 6-7 figure vehicles from the conversation. What we already have in the Hellcat Charger is the fastest production musclecar ever produced. With the Demon we will have the quickest muscle car ever produced. With the Viper ACR we had the best handling track oriented american production car ever produced. With the now nearly 10-yro platform in the Challenger we have nearly equal sales to the new Generation Camaro. While Chrysler may be struggling Dodge performance isn't.
But the problem with Dodge has always been that if wants to be the "best" it fails at everything else. Look at a z06 vs a viper - they offer nearly identical performance but the Viper will send you to a chiropractor after a long weekend, the Vette can be daily driven. Zl1 vs Hellcat, basically the same 1/4 mile, but the zl1 can go to the road course after.

They simply do not have the r&d like GM has and it's showing more and more everyday. The longer they continue to extend platforms instead of replace them, the worse it will get. Most FCA vehicles sell on price and styling. That has been the Achilles heel of Dodge for as long as I can remember. I have never owned a Chrysler vehicle that I didn't regret purchasing soon after.

Bahama is late, so I'll post it for him:

I see 750 on the dyno screen near the end, but those SRT power gauges are not accurate to begin with. Have seen several 500s on Scat Pack/SRT392 cars.

Thanks.

125 mph at the 1/8 and only gaining 4 mph through the 1/4? Does that sound right?

0-60: 3.0 sec
0-100: 6.9 sec

1/8 ET: 6.4 sec
1/8 MPH: 125 mph

1/4 ET: 10.5 sec
1/4 MPH: 129 mph

You have to give credit where credit is due, they are pulling out all the stops. A race cool down feature. Kudos to them.

Yea just noticed that. Well if you look at the 0-100 timer being on 6 secs, the 1/8 should be more like 105-110mph range. Proof they are "editing" the pics to show data. But I don't doubt the 1/4 numbers.

What would new ZL1 do with similar tires, drag shock setup, front skinnies, on a prepped track?

The unique sound is the result of the Demon’s advanced torque reserve launch system, which Dodge says is the first ever on a production car. Basically, the system allows more airflow into the engine which increases the supercharger RPM, but it doesn’t overwhelm the brakes with excessive torque.

The torque reserve system activates in Launch Mode when the motor is above 1000 RPM and does two main things:

It closes the bypass valve on the supercharger, “prefilling” the supercharger.

It manages fuel flow to cylinders and changes spark timing. To balance engine rpm and torque, the Challenger SRT Demon’s powertrain controller will briefly cut fuel flow to selected cylinders. This creates the noticeable change in the exhaust tone. The controller also advances or retards the ignition timing to fine-tune the engine rpm/torque balance.

Another riddle. I really hope they give us the answer sheet to all these math problems at the end of the test
