Funny thing was when you come into Canada corner, there were 100 sets of skid marks going straight into the wall. We were guessing that the Hellcat club must have just been there.

My guess is the Hellcat club was busy with something like this:

Was about to say that 60' looks like DR or DOT slick times. Not really impressed other than it being a great bang for the buck for drag racing.

Not good bang for buck, 5.0 with FI and a little suspension work will do that time a lot cheaper.

In terms of buying from a dealer and slapping on some DRs without opening the hood...it is. If you are going to play the modding game hell you can pick up an old LS1 and do it NA with H/C and the usual bolt ons cheaper too.

Thats what i was getting at, is it was on tires.

Not denying it's a monster...but i can show you cars running excellent times with tires all over the place.

I cut 1.8s on tires in my blue turd... that was a severly underpowered 5sp car with a nearly handicapped driver (me)

Yep I feel the same way. With guys running in the 8s on DRs...just not as impressive.

I agree sound will be one of the most iconic in history.
Relatively low displacement, flat plane crank, high-revving V8 instead of huge displacement or a blower and carbon fiber wheels are outside of the typical ponycar playbook, even the American sports car playbook in general. With the GT, a twin turbo V6 instead of a V8 and an almost entirely carbon fiber body. These are way outside the formula we're used to seeing from American car companies.

The Voodoo is the highest displacement FPC built and used in a sports car. Technically Ford did the exact same thing Chevy did, put out their existing V8 to the largest bore size they can and make the valve-train as lightweight as possible to promote high RPM. So really the only thing innovative is the use of FPC.

Agree on the wheels being a first for a mass production car and will probably set a new trend.

Like I said before, definitely innovative, but Ford really used the same formula everyone else does, lighter weight, more power, better suspension design. Not breaking new ground just pushing the envelope to new levels.
