19 MPG on a v6
Sup guys! I looked at my average fuel economy and I realized that it had only 19 MPG! I might as well have bought a v8 for that fuel economy! is that a bad MPG? It's engine is completely stock, 2013 LFX 1LT.

How many miles on the OD? Are you currently breaking it in? Do you have a lead foot? City or highway driving or both? Lots of factors can lead to low mileage.

Lots of factors go into MPG. Like is it City or highway, do you drive hard, do you let off the throttle any, etc...

Best test is go on the highway, set cruise control up to highway speed limit. drive for 20-30 minutes non stop.

Most of my driving is in traffic, and in town. That's about what I get, maybe a little higher. Highway, I get 25+ (lots of hills here in W Washington).

Driving habits and the type of driving you do make a huge difference. With that said, if your only getting 19 from a v-6 it is possible that you would only be getting 13 with the v-8.

Lol that's still a lot compared to me, I average 14-15 mpg and my average speed is 20 mph, you guys with the 6s need to stop complaining even when it's 19 mpg haha

2010 V6
32.3 mpg at 60 mph on flat hiway....
19 around town. That's usually because these are short trips which kills milage plus stop and go traffic wth a relatively heavy car. Good thing it uses regular gas.

I was consistently getting around 17mpg when I had my V6. All city driving, pretty decent traffic, but not rush hour gridlock. My SS is giving me about 15mpg, and I think I'm definitely driving it way more aggressively than I did with my V6. Or maybe it just seems that way?
I never understood why my V6 got such crappy gas mileage. At least I get why my SS does. But I obviously didn't buy that car for gas mileage. |
