i ain't got any ideas yet, but if you're gonna ask her to marry you, make sure you know the answer first... especially if you're gonna do something big or in front of other people!

Seriously, your idea is cool, but that makes it less personal if you will. Consider taking her someplace beautiful and scenic and doing it there. Or going to a nice restaurant and having the staff put it into her dessert or something like that.

Yes, listen to zebra and me, NOT PETE, and be sure if you're going to ask her in front of a large body of people, she won't be too embarrassed by it (is she shy?), and that she won't feel compelled to say yes just because of all the people looking on, meaning be darn sure she'll want to say yes. But, otherwise, I think in front of the graduating class would be absolutely awesome! Definitely a day she would never forget.

Or, if you like, you can go with Pete's bitch slap approach.

take her on a helicopter/plane ride. tell her that the only safe way down is if she says yes.

or you could get a big cake box and a medium sized cake with the words "Will you marry me?" and 2 candles with "Yes" or "No" written below them and a lighter inside the box with the ring inside the ring box on the cake. let her light the "candle that is the flame of your relationship" with her decision
