I will have to admit that in the 5 years since I bought my 2013 ZL1 convertible, I can count the number of times I've seen another ZL1 out on the road other than at or going to a car show on one hand.
I know they're out there, several members of our club have one, but like I said they're rarely seen on the street.
My guess is that the current owners are keeping them safe in the garage protecting them hoping they'll become a collectors car some day.
Not me, I drive mine most every day in th summer.

I am torn between the 5th gen (for looks and price) and the 6th gen (for lower weight, more horsepower and the 10 speed automatic). The 5th gen looks like a classic Camaro. The 6th gen looks like an angry cheese grater! But, if I'm driving it, I'm not looking at it; then it's other peoples problem. I may avoid making a decision by buying a 2013 427 Vette.

Is it still too early to be expecting such a market flood, or are these pretty realistic results?
The number of hits you received is probably related to the 100 miles radius...There are a lot of 5th Gens available...

However, I'll be keeping mine for the reason's that many other members have already stated...I'm only a couple of appearance mods from having it exactly as I want it, and I'm very happy with it...There's nothing that really appeals to me in the 6th Gen, with the exception of standard line lock/roll stop...

Thumbs up

Almost 19K miles on my '14 ZL1 and not a single issues on my Camaro, they are built strong, looks like a Classic Muscle car, gets a lot of attention and not that many on the road, in two years I have seen just one driving by. On a 300 mile radius search I was able only to find 3. This car is a keeper. Mine is even rarer with the Recaro seats.

I've had my eye on the 5th Gen ZL1 before they hit dealers. Researched the Car thoroughly. Put an allocation down for a 6M Crystal Red Metallic 6 months before they hit the dealers.

Saw 2 pre-production models at the 2012 Daytona 500 and yanked my order. Didn't like some things I saw on wheel gap, fit/finish. Car just didn't looked done. Bought a 2012 CTS-V Auto sedan. Loved it, but it was not what I wanted. I actually forgot how to drive in the Auto. Caddy was that good!

Chevy Dealership calls me in 2014 and says they have something I have to see. They same ZL1 I ordered, but a 2014 with 6,200 miles, bone stock. Too much car for the original Owner. Traded my CTS-V in the next day on a killer deal.

Haven't looked back since. The most impressive Car I have ever owned bone stock! Car Completely insane now. Its going no-where. Don't see the headroom, strength and looks in the new Gen 6 ZL1 in Manual. The A10 is very impressive however. Can't give up the stick and become a passenger again.

My '13 vert spent a week on the lot at Balise Chev in Springfiled, MA before it was snapped up by a little ole couple in CT who bought it to drive to the liquor store once a week.

The 5th Gen offers more in terms of original muscle car looks...jmo.
A future collector - maybe.
Bad ass - definitely.

I'm keeping my 2014. I just dumped a ton of money into what I've been told is a stage1,2,3&4 build all at once. I get it back in think tomorrow. Has 0nly 9000 miles on it.

LOL

There are a decent amount of 12/13 models out there, but I'm being marginally picky and want the color hud/DIC and the new rear end (it's grown on me significantly, especially with tinted tails)

Your Gen 6 coupe looks nice except in the rear IMO. The gen 5 verts are so ugly to me with the top in the up position IMO. Now the Gen 5 coupes are very sexy classic looking cars top to bottom and front to back. You just don't ever meet or see any 5th Gen ZL's on the road, I've seen quite a few 6th Gens coupes on the road, but I remember back with the 5th Gen ZL's introduction allocations were difficult during the first two or three years.
