Thoughts on Flowmaster Exhaust
Looking at changing out the stock exhaust for a "little" something more. I've researched quite a bit and found what looks like a very good option from Flowmaster. Thoughts?
Flowmaster® Part #: 817700 Thanks in advance! |

I have Flowmaster American thunder cat back with 3" tips, long tube headers with no cats and it's LOUD! I had the exhaust done almost 3 years ago and just added my headers not long. The Flowmasters give it a nice old school rumble.

Save your $575 and just go to your local muffler shop and do a muffler delete. Sounds much better than with Flowmaster mufflers and can be done for about $100.

I'll have a similar set up in 2 weeks! Kooks 1 7/8", HF cats, and the American Thunder axle back

I know it's a different car but the flowmasters sound real good on the G8's. However the drone is bad and afm kicking in and out can be annoying.

A muffler delete won't really give you any noticeable gain in power (neither will a muffler swap), but it will sound better and cost way less than replacing the mufflers with an axle back system. The only real gains you would possibly see is if you did a full 3" catback (I would still do a muffler delete). Just have the exhaust shop fab you up some delete pipes and they can weld on your tips.

if your not going with a cat back don't waste your money on an axle back. my muffler delete cost me $80 at the local shop and it sounds awesome. i personally think it sounds better than most axle back system on the market.
