Help with a blower cam??
Looking for a cam with no bucking and stock like drivability??considering the ls9 zr1 cam or the GT9 from lpe?I'm going with ecs novi kit it comes with 60# injectors and BAP and should be close to the 600 rwhp and I don't want to push the stock pump very far.
Also is full 3inch exhaust going to make a difference?I have LTs with 3inch xpipe but it reduces to 2.5 inch in the back and hooked to stock mufflers. Thank you Ahmad

Not to be mean but why even install a cam then. The main reason for installing a cam is for more horsepower. Why spend $1500 dollars to have a small cam put in and only get a few horsepower. Now I am not saying put a huge cam in that shakes the ground, but why spend the money for a cam that when you pull up to a red light nobody even knows you have one. Just my 2 cents...

not meaning to sidebust, someone throw out a blower cam that rumbles roughly at idle.

Ted at Jannetty Racing has a smooth idle blower cam. There's a thread if you do a search.

i dont think your hearing me...
the wife... is bugging me to cam the car because it doesnt sound hot enough at idle. its funny how she thinks its way too loud and goes too fast with the blower and headers, etc, but i guess she wants to look cool putting to the grocery store. so if you didnt guess, when the wife green stamps a major car mod, life could be worse....

Loool I think your missing my point what I want is drivability which should be like a stock no bucking at all.the other thing is the fuel I don't want to do a dual pumps until I build my engine for now I'm not sure the stock pump with BAP will handle a big cam with the blower this why I'm considering a small cam to give me the extra power I need.

i have a BAP, and im with you, i dont wanna go the dual pump route...
then again, i dont really wanna open my motor as its running great, and is tuned pretty good. im more open to a different motor.....than camming the L99. then i have a backup motor. my stall isnt real huge either, but i'd do it for the wife. even if the cam doesnt make much power but sounds like it does.

Thanks for the replies I decided to do the blower first and see the how much the pump can handle then maybe do a cam.
But that's left me with my second question is the full 3inch exhaust benificial or should I stick to my current setup?

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1664706811768 Going to pick her up tomorrow. Haven't gotten to hear it in person yet or to drive her since the Whipple/cam upgrade, but this is a taste of what she sounds like post upgrade. |

I have this cam in mine and idles fine at light with A/C on! The sound is amazing and the attention is also pretty fun! Everyone loves it!

I can't offer any information on your exhaust but "my opinion" would be to go with 3" all the way back. My thought is that with your increase in exhaust valve duration and lift via the cam and with the Lt's already on why possibly negate the gains by creating a backpressure node when you go down to 2.5" out the back. From discussions I've had with the shop that does my work, their experience indicates that they start to run into problems with fuel delivery to the back of the rails at about 585 RWHP with the factory pump. Hope this helps.

How much HP increase did you get on your L99. I assume you did an LS3 conversion... |
