Carplay Update for 2015 Corvette?

With the recent announcement that GM is going to put CarPlay & other software in 2016 models to use iPhone & Android phones to display on the in car screen, I have been attempting to see whether anybody knows for sure whether this will be a software update for 2015 models? Having just bought the 2015 I would really like to have this capability but without having to wait years till I buy a new car or having to replace the factory system with a aftermarket stero (Pioneer, etc) that support CarPlay. Sure seems like it would be able to be done with a software update.
