thinking about this plastic dip design

I know the normal thing is all blacked out or silver. Which I agree looks clean. But I've always liked to have some colored shoes with some bright designs so why can't she. My car is blue velvet. In the right light it can look faded from black, to blue, and to purple. But I kind of want a brighter blue with black rims. Like this pic but with blue instead of the red. Do you honestly think I should just go with black since there's no brighter colors on the car?

Dip is very hard to do with that many tape lines to get the barrels and faces different colors. But when done right it looks good. It is a tough DIY job though.

I mean I've been in the art and graffiti world a long time. Painted a lot of canvas backgrounds with spray paint and tape but nothing on a curved surface. I've read its easy to take off if I don't like it but I'm cheap. $

I plastidipped mine black for a while. My car is Imperial Blue, pretty similar to yours.

Here's a start tape up. Luckily the tape is similar to the color I want. So the silver thats not taped will be black. Blue where the tape is. Obviously not done taping the lug nuts will be blue too.

I like the idea swagner.
If it comes out good enough, I might rethink the paint on mine...

I like the design a lot, but won't plastidip on the lug nuts come right off when you tighten them?

plastidip, when cures, becomes very stretchy, i'm not sure you'll be able to cut those edges the way you envision, but give it a shot and see what happens. I did my winter storage rims and a bunch of emblems, but all 1 color, never tried what you're attempting

The only way to get crisp edges on plasti-dip is to pull the tape immediately after spraying a heavy coat. if you wait till it dries it will just peel as if your taking it off

i have 4 cans of plasti-dip in my garage right now. Ive been wanting to do my rims for a long time. I just didnt know if i should take them off one at a time and clean them up and then do the whole rim. Didnt know if people did the inside of the rim too or not
