To admit you have a V6
So I run into some people I know every now and then like today. I went to a local shop that I wrenched at to get my tpms reset and an oil change. They are all like " how the hell did you afford a new Camaro, those things are like forty grand!", " that's what, like 400 hp?". So I give the response that its a V6 and no, It was not forty grand. Then the usual response of why would you buy a v6 and bla blah blah. After mentioning that it has 300+ hp than everybody is surprised and than its cool. Just think its funny that happens often.

I know the felling. I have black spoked wheels on my car and everyone thinks it's a ZL1. They are so bummed when I tell them it's a v6.

I started getting that even before I got my camaro. I told some people at work that I planned on getting one and the first thing they asked was, "are you getting the V8?" Then when I said no I would always get, "why spend the money on a new camaro and not get a V8?" My response was always, "well, it's cheaper and still has plenty of power." Then like you, when I told them they were north of 300hp they would be like, "oh well, that's plenty."
Just the other day I pulled into a gas station to get something to drink. I parked right next to these 2 dudes in a Grand Am. I had my window down and so did they and the driver goes, "nice car man!" I'm like, "well thanks." He goes, "is it the V8?" I go, "nope, its the V6." The driver starts laughing. Not really in the mood for that, I ended the conversation and got out of my car. Just as I walked past them, I heard the passenger say, "well, I guess it's still a Camaro V6 or not." The driver was still making comments that I couldn't hear, and I was thinking, "dude, this "lowly V6 would walk all over your grand am." |

I got the vert instead of the V8. best tradeoff ever. 323HP is definitely something to be reckoned with.

outside people is ok... now some fellow Camaro lovers are the problem!
Example: I was in a car show with other Camaros, this people never saw my car before, big V8 camshaft, superchargers beasts! When they saw my car they got all exited until i open my hood... one of them said "What a beautiful car! It's a shame is a V6..."

This guy at work said I should have got the"Big Block" with the stick. That my car must be slow because its an A6 with only 400hp. I just laughed he drives a Cavalier with a fart can

Yeah I hear you. I heard it a couple times and even got it from my brother when I added the stripes and he gave me crap for trying to make an SS imposter. My reply to him was "it looks and runs better then anything you got". Even though I have only been asked a few times what's under the hood my reply is a V6 and I have gotten that look until I tell them 323 HP under the hood then I get the "really" reply. With the V2 exhaust it sounds pretty decent and fired it up for one of my friends and he couldn't believe it was the V6 by sound. At a shooting club I belong to I have gotten the "midlife crisis" response, that one was funny and my reply was "call it what you want, a person only goes around in this world one time, may as well enjoy it while it lasts". I am enjoying it!

It's always the ones that aren't driving either one that have something to say about "oh its not a v8" but I love my V6 1lt and proud owner of it. But I love all 5th gens! Even the ls models and the heritage rims look awesome, to me!
